Focusing at home can be a challenge when everyone else is home too. I’ve started to get up a couple of hours before everyone else to get the ball rolling and stay motivated throughout the day. This article has a few tips that might be helpful if you’re having trouble staying focused throughout the day.

Maybe it’s time you upped your video call game! The front-facing camera on your computer is fine for most of us. For some, we like to have beautiful looking images all the time. Anyway, here’s a quick tutorial on how to spend more time and money than you need to on a “webcam”.

SHOW YOUR WORK! What are you doing while locked at home or working remotely? I have a couple of his books and while I don’t read them cover to cover, I think it’s a great book to pick up and read for a little kick in the butt! Let people know, document what you’re up to. People are interested and who knows, it may help to keep you fresh. This book by Austin Kleon might be what you need to help guide you in your sharing ways!

Lastly, we got a bit of snow in Fort Collins this week. A good friend was able to get out and take some amazing photos when the skies cleared up a bit. Check them out “Cotton Candy Drive”  here!

We hope everyone is having a great week, staying home when you can!

Stay healthy and safe!

Great book to read

Are you looking for inspiration this Friday? We at Front Range Media love this book! We love the authors, and some times like to flip to a random page and get an inspirational quote of the day!

We are all trying to get through these times together! Below is the quote that came up this morning! What are you possibly avoiding right now? What is that thing that makes you afraid? Someone else may be having the same problem! How can we face it together? I guess what we are trying to say is, don’t let anything hold you back!

Helping Local Businesses

Give it a like

We all want to help the local businesses survive this time. We have been told to keep buying things from the local grocer, restaurant, brewery, clothing store, etc. However, what can you do for the small businesses in your area that don’t have actual products that you can purchase? It could be a small design firm, wedding/family photographer, musician. or anyone whose pipeline has been shut off at the moment. This is all new for us, but the marketing will always be the same for the small guys. Word of mouth and social media interaction, if you see someone posting work that they’ve done, an article that they’ve shared, or just a recent update on their business page, I encourage you to hit that like button and share what they posted. It can’t hurt and takes seconds to do. Nothing would make that business person happier than to see their post shared, liked, and commented on by everyone they know. You will see more things shared by people who haven’t been active on the social channels but help them out and give them a like and a follow.

Some things you can do to help a small business at this time:

• Like, comment and share a post.

• Head over to their Google Business, Yelp, Linkedin, or Facebook pages to give them a review and suggest to your friends to like the page.

• Know a friend that could use their help? Send an email to that person and introduce virtually.

• Reach out to them and see how the’re doing, some may be thriving at this time, some might not.

• Any other ideas? eave em in the comments!

Thank you, and stay healthy my friends!

National AG Day

We here at Front Range Media, hope that everyone is sheltered in place and safe this week! Today is National Ag Day, and to be honest, it should be every day! Without our farmer’s work, we would go hungry. Last fall, we spent a couple of days shooting in the field, capturing video and photography for a client. Take a peek at some of the shots we got! They sure brought me back to when I was a kid, standing next to the field next to our house, waiting for whoever was driving the tractor to stop and give me a ride. Maybe even share their lunch.
